cannot connect with Data Migration Manager (IFD installed)

Hi,

I'm trying to connect the data migration manager (installed on another
w2k3 
vm) to a crm installation that has Internet Facing installed.
The problem is, that the internet facing deployment runs on https with an 
internal certificate and I simply cannot connect to the CRM System. When
I'm 
trying to connect, the DMM says something like: server is not available, 
please check the address with internet explorer (don't know exactly, it's 
german). 
But in IE, this address works!
(btw: I've been trying to connect to CRM through all possible addresses,  
https://external_servername;
https://internal_servername;

http://internal_servername;
http://internal_ip)

I thought, maybe I'll have to install the DMM on the CRM server, but when 
I'm trying this, I get the error message: "The Path is not of legal form"
. 
I'm really stuck.


Any ideas?
