unable to install on xp pro w sp2-- only showing odbc options

by "=?Utf-8?B?dmluY2Vfcg==?=" <vince_r@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sep 29, 2005 at 01:22 PM

I am trying to install mscms eval on my winxp pro box. os has sp2. I'm
having problems with the install and was hoping for some assistance.

When I run the installer (cms2002sp1eval.exe), it extracts and then the
following occurs:

1) opens window entitled 'Microsoft ODBC Setup'
2) i'm given options to install various ODBC drivers.
3) if i proceed with install wizard, it re****ts that odbc drivers have
been
installed successfully.
4) if i try to create a new MSCMS project within VS .NET, I do not see
any
'content management server projects' option.

i've done the following prior to running MSCMS install: IIS install of
Common Files, FP 2000 Serv Ext, IIS Snap IN, WWW server; IE is > 6.0;
running
..NET framework 1.1; running SQL 2k w sp3a; installed IE web controls;
installed J# redist; ASPNET account has impersonation privs; allowed iusr
account launch and activate perm in COM security.

any ideas why i don't see the correct installation screens for mscms?

thanks.
