Hi,
I recently faced an issue while upgrading my existing BizTalk Server 2006
installation to R2. I was able to run the upgrade successfully on one of
the
2 boxes in my envrionment but upgrade failed when I ran this on the second
box. :-( ...
I banged my head around with this error:
Error 5009.Registration of BAM performance counters failed. Return code
-1073741819.
Found some discussions saying that I might need to rebuild the box all
over
again...and even one of them saying rebuilding the performance counters
all
over. I tried building the performance counter but that even didn't work.
My
bad luck...
Later, our lead suggested to run the installer using /console session (as
I
was doing an RDC to the server) which just solved the
issue...strange...but
this worked for us :-D
If any of you face such issue for the above mentioned error...try running
the installer using /console session (provided it is not on a local
machine).
