Biztalk image server farm

by =?Utf-8?B?QWxhbll1?= <AlanYu@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 29, 2007 at 12:35 AM

Hi All,

We have a standard bizTalk server farm with multiple receive hosts,
process
hosts, send hosts and clustered biztalk DB.

Our application need 100% availibity, we want our system keep running even

whole server farm crash, so we going to build another image server farm
with
exact same server configuration.

I have 2 option here.

1. Install 2 server farm into one Biztalk group, that means need a shared
management db and messagebox db. I can't put shared db in either farm.
application still crash if that server farm down.

2. Install server farms in seperate Biztalk group. each farm has its own
management db, messagebox. then messagebox db can't used in another farm
as
management db hold all different guid on BizTalk application
configuration, I
will lose the historical message, orchestration state.

Also we have LOB to route soap to receive hosts. When primary server farm
runs, the requests can't route to second farm hosts as 2 farms doesn't
share
same messagedb. we need ask IT team to enable second farm receive host in
LOB
when primary server down. This may take long time as IT team not in our
control.

Any good suggestion or experice on that?

Thanks,
Alan
