HL records in 837

by Redd <redbastid@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jul 9, 2007 at 09:53 AM

Hi! I have questions regarding the use of the HL records in the 837
schema.

I have a solution that retrieves individual professional claims and
transmits them to a third party using the HIPAA adapter. The claims
are processed individually, but they get batched into a single file by
the adapter.

That is, the orchestrations only work on one claim, not the entire
list of claims to be sent out.

How, then, do you set HL records that expect to be numbered
sequentially? There is no way that I know of to say the claim being
processed is, say, the 57th. So, how then, do I deal with these
records? Does the HIPAA adapter number these segments on its own
regardless of what they were initialized to? Is there a way to make
it do that?

Currently, the map sets these records to "1". Should I not be setting
these fields? Should I set them to a "special" value?

I am using Biztalk 2006, Hipaa Accelerator 3.3, and am using the
multiclaim 837 professional schema.

Thanks for any insights you can offer,

Redd
