Color Coding not Coloring the Code

Hello All,

 I am using Dreamweaver CS3 on a Mac and for some reason, when I set the
Color 
Coding in my preferences, it will not show in my do***ent.

 I tried saving the do***ent and double checked if I actually had the
do***ent 
set to php and no luck.

 is there something I might be doing something wrong?

 Mainly, I set the php comment code color to a color and bold and nothing
shows 
when I use a comment in the do***ent.
